A lot of people think that public speaking means that you are standing at a podium giving a speech, but public speaking comes in lots of different formats.
Public speaking is also when you are speaking to one person.
But what stops us from speaking confident is the nervousness while speaking.
And it’s all normal.
It’s okay to feel nervous. That’s a sign that you are doing something great.
So here’s a solution to all your nervousness.
You have to ask yourself 2 questions when you feel nervous next time on stage.
Just 2 questions.
Do you believe in what you will be delivering?
What topic are you speaking on? Do you believe in your message?
Have you tried and tested it yourself?
Have you got real results?
Have other people got results by what you are going to speak?
If you said YES to above all questions, then you don’t need to worry because audience feels most connected to people who are authentic.
There is 100% probability that the audience will love what you are going to speak because you believe in what you are delivering.
Does your message have value to this audience?
If what you are going to say what has been already said, there is no value for your audience.
If what you are going to say what you don’t understand, there is no value for your audience.
Your audience only values your speech when you deliver your talk according to their needs or something that they don’t know but you have experienced very well in your life.
And when you do that, the audience feels like there is someone who has undergone same troubles as they have and also has a solution to their problem. So it helps you build credibility.
If you can answer yes to those two, then the nerves that remain are ego (how will I sound, how will I look, will they like me?).
Focus on the value you are giving your audience, and you’ll be golden.
This has served me well!
